Not Sure If You Need A Root Canal?

Don’t Guess. Let A Dentist Examine Your Tooth.

Tooth pain doesn’t always mean you need a root canal and not every infected tooth feels painful.

What is a root canal treatment?

Root canal treatment is a procedure used to treat a tooth when the pulp, the soft tissue containing nerves and blood vessels inside the tooth — becomes inflamed or infected. The affected tissue is removed, the root canals are carefully cleaned and disinfected, and the canals are then sealed. The tooth is subsequently restored as recommended by your dentist.

Common signs can include persistent toothache, sensitivity to hot or cold, pain when biting, swelling around the tooth, tenderness, or a recurring infection. However, symptoms alone cannot confirm that you need a root canal. Your dentist may need to examine the tooth and take an X-ray before recommending treatment.

Modern root canal treatment is performed using local anaesthesia to numb the tooth and surrounding area. Many patients find that treatment is much more comfortable than they expected. Some tenderness may occur after treatment and can usually be managed according to your dentist’s instructions.

The cost depends on the tooth being treated, the complexity of the root canals and the restoration required afterwards.

Root Canal Treatment starts from AED 500.

Your dentist can provide a more accurate treatment estimate after examining your tooth.

In many cases, root canal treatment can allow an infected or inflamed tooth to be retained instead of extracted. Whether a tooth can be predictably saved depends on factors such as the remaining tooth structure, infection, cracks, bone support and overall condition of the tooth.

Not every tooth necessarily requires the same type of restoration. Teeth that have undergone root canal treatment may require additional protection depending on their location, remaining structure and functional demands. Your dentist will recommend the appropriate restoration for your particular tooth.

Yes, some previously treated teeth can be assessed for re-root canal treatment (endodontic retreatment) when infection or symptoms persist or return. The cause needs to be identified first, and the appropriate treatment depends on the condition of the tooth.

A separated instrument does not automatically mean the tooth must be extracted. Depending on its location, accessibility, infection status and the condition of the tooth, options may include attempting retrieval, bypassing the instrument, or treating the canal around it. Complex cases require careful clinical assessment.

Pain disappearing does not necessarily mean that the underlying problem has resolved. Some dental infections can progress with few symptoms. If you have persistent or recurring tooth pain, swelling or sensitivity, arrange a dental assessment rather than relying on symptoms alone.

Depending on your symptoms, diagnosis, dentist availability and the complexity of the case, treatment may sometimes begin on the same day. Your dentist will first determine the appropriate course of treatment.
